First Light is seeking STEM professionals to serve as volunteer instructional assistants for the 2023-2024 school year. Volunteers guide students through hands-on activities to explore scientific questions.
In 2023-2024, each term will help First Light students will explore circuits, programming, and robotics. Each term will include six sessions focussing on:
- Fall: Introduction to Circuits and Programming
- Winter: Intermediate Robotics and Programming
- Spring: Applications of Robotics and Programming – Connections to Careers
Sessions for the Fall Term are held at Carnegie’s Broad Branch Road Campus (5251 Broad Branch Road, NW, Washington, DC 20015) on the following Saturdays from 1 pm – 4 pm:
- September 30th
- October 14th, 28th
- November 4th, 18th
- December 2nd
