First Light Application

First Light Saturday Science School invites middle school students to apply for the Spring 2025 Term! Please complete the form below and attach a signed copy of the CASE Release Form to apply.

Students will continue exploring flight and aviation during the Spring Term, focusing on weather balloons! We will explore the history of weather balloons, how they are used in scientific applications, and take our own data with Arduinos.  

Dates for the upcoming Spring 2025 Term are:

Sessions run from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm each week. (Except for the first session, which starts at 12:30 p.m. for orientation). Parents and Student support teams are invited to view students’ presentations during the last session. Sessions are held at Carnegie’s Broad Branch Road campus (5251 Broad Branch Road, NW, Washington, DC 20015, in the Greenewalt Building)
