First Light Volunteer Application
We’re seeking STEM professionals to serve as volunteer instructional assistants for Fall 2025.
Volunteers guide students through hands-on activities to explore scientific questions.
In the coming Fall 2025 term, First Light students will spend time exploring how we can utilize our five senses in space and what we can learn from these different perspectives. Below are the specific topics for each session in the coming Fall Term.
- September 28th: Sight
- October 5th: Sound
- Ocotber 26th: Smell
- November 8th: Touch
- November 16th: Taste
- November 23rd: Presentations!
Sessions run from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm each week. (Except for the first orientation session, which starts at 12:30 p.m.) at 5251 Branch Road, NW, Washington, DC 20015 on the following Saturdays from 1 pm – 4 pm.
