Then, visit www.careervoyages.gov and search BIOTECHNOLOGY (or click on its left menu)  for information about the emerging high-need industry of biotechnology. This site has links to opportunities both locally and in the various states, educational requirements, current salaries, and projected jobs available in the next few years.

The DC metropolitan area is jam-packed with opportunities at Federal Research Laboratories  and Agencies, local univeristies and colleges and regional private industries.

Here are links to educational programs in the DC metropolitan area and the region, and also Community College and 4-Year programs around the country.

Many people in Biotechnology and other STEM careers continued their educations after high school starting at their local Community College.

Community College costs less AND "articulates" with 4-year colleges in just about every state, which means you can transfer your community college credits to your 4-year college major!

District of Columbia students, check with your DC CAP office about the possibilities for in-state tuition at particular Virginia and Maryland state institutions of higher education.
